The house I bought was built in 1991. It came with wood-framed windows. Apparently "very good" windows, since wood frames were popular because they're expensive. So it makes things "worth something." Unfortunately, wood-framed windows also mean they expand and contract, causing it to crack and break over time.
There are two windows in the loft of my bedroom. They're in corners so I rarely go back there. We decided to have someone come by to just look at the windows so we could get a quote. Well, it came out to be $10k or so to get all 13 windows in the house replaced. That was just a bit much :P And by bit I mean a shitton. Anyway, we had to get the two in the loft replaced because the wood there literally rotted to the point where the windows were collapsing on themselves. No wonder it was so cold up there :( THERE WERE HOLES IN THE WINDOW.
Needless to say they had to be repalced as soon as possible. Which they're doing today. So I can't do anything. And it's cold because the old windows are completely removed at the moment. Remy's flipping out because he wants to see what they're doing. Good guard dog. Slightly annoying with the yapping.
I really wish Splendor would just get here already >.< It's scheduled to arrive today and since I'm leaving tomorrow for Lynchburg, I'm going to be quite upset if I don't have it :P I already finished Nothing But The Truth (and a few white lies) which
cidercupcakes lent me. It was great, just so you all know. While reading I kept thinking, "My mom does that!" or "She totally would do that!" I actually need to give my mom a call and tell her about that book. She'd probably find it entertaining (and then perhaps yell at me later for comparing her to the mom in the book.. but anyway).
Nerdily, I also bought The Stolen Throne and The Calling which are both Dragon Age books :P The first is on its way shipping with Splendor. Can't read the second until the first is done *sigh*
Man, I need another series to read after Luxe. Ugh. Library. Down such a busy street. Hate traffic.

So I finished the first 3 books in the Luxe Series and couldn't help myself so I read spoilers for the 4th book (it's being shipped tomorrow.. I unfortunately finished the 3rd one today because I took this week off work... I really shouldn't have... on both accounts, quite frankly, but that's beside the point). I'm utterly disapopinted and depressed because it doesn't end how the author had hinted at it ending this whole freaking time. I hate it when they do that!! Ugh.
I'm not sure if this is another case of what I refer to as 'The Twilight Effect': where you get so wrapped up in the story and what's going to happen you don't quite notice anything else. The character development is at least.. developed :P The characters are brilliantly written. And sacrifices are at least made.. but.. MAN it depresses me! And it isn't even a popular fandom so I can't even find good fanfic to make me happy.
Ugh, damn you B&N. Damn you for your 2-day shipping. Be one day! (of course without me having to pay an extra arm for it)
I'm finishing these books way too quickly. They're each 400 pages. I've totally done nothing in the last 2-3 days but read that and ignore Dragon Age (which is quite a feat if you ask me). I had to lock my dog up so he'd stop chewing on every object in the house while I read distractedly :P (sorry Remy!)
*sob* stupid stories that make me have feelings

I want a break from work. Not that I haven't had breaks, but they come with a price :P I managed to take off work this past Friday, but that's only because I came into work the previous Saturday. When there was lots of snow (at least for VA...). It was complete sliding slush on my way to work. Needless to say I was quite displeased :P
I also missed Remy's first experience with snow. J says Remy bounced around like a rabbit. He even tried sniffing the snow and ended up with it all up in his nose. I MISSED MY CUTE PUPPERS. UGH. I mean yeah, the snow stuck around and he did bound about, but it wasn't the same :P
Oh. When your dog pees in someone's yard, it's much more awkward when there's snow. And it's no longer white *shiftyeyes*
On Saturday we went to J's company's holiday party. Of course, we didn't get one :P Whatever. Anyway, it was tasty tasty buffet. And they even had pimp door prizes like a 32" 1080p LCD HDTV. I wanted it. For no other reason than to just have. It was relatively boring otherwise. Also freezing cold to be wearing a dress about, let me tell you -_-
Work as been a bit stressful. Work politics is even worse. I'm not sure what's going on *sigh* Talking about work just makes me depressed these days. I've been offered other positions, but Lockheed's paying for grad school AND the professors come to work. I really can't complain. So till August. Just gotta force myself to finish my masters.
Stupid masters.
Did meet up with my dear
cidercupcakes XD I haven't seen her in forever. And it was so great to catch up. She suggested I watch Merlin of which I'm surprised I haven't yet. Hot wizard? I should be all over that! J needs to hurry up and graduate (THANK GOD! ONE MORE WEEK!) so we can start catching up on TV. We got Dollhouse on Black Friday. Need to support Joss somewhere :) Also would love to jump back into fandom some more. Must find outlets... (must find Merlin..).
Have I told you guys yet how happy I am that I got Muse tickets? XD Cuz I'm utterly giddy. Even though it cost an arm and half a leg. Stupid ticketmaster fees. Srsly. Assholes.

Holy crap. I completely forgot about this thing.
I think I've had nothing to say about my life lately. It's so boring. It used to be filled with angst. Now it's filled with.. boring life-stuff. Though I guess maybe the next couple months will be slightly more 'exciting' as I go wedding planning some more...
So I definitely came back because of the Alistair Dragon Age community.. I couldn't help it. I'm so freaking addicted to this game. The last time I was this obsessed was Kingdom Hearts.. and I failed a final >.< The time before that was Chrono Trigger where I was 12 and stayed up till 4am every night playing (it was summer!).
Oh fandom, I'm baaaack XD
Maybe I'll have something more enlightening to say once I catch up with everyone else's life.
Most importantly, though: I got Muse tickets \o/
